Strichka Festival
Electronic music festival Strichka comes back after a long hiatus caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Fifty DJs from Europe, the U.S., Japan and Ukraine are coming to shake the dancefloors of the former ribbon factory, which houses famous electronic music club Closer. The lineup features Yone-ko, Objekt, Boston 168, as well as locals Koloah, Criminal Practice, Nastia and more. There will be seven dancefloors for different kinds of electronic music, a food court and chill zones.

‘Woman to woman’
Kyiv’s Dymchuk Gallery is presenting a new exhibition of photographs by Gerti Deutsch and Inge Morath, prominent Austrian female photographers of the 20th century. The two are known for their breakthrough careers in the photography world that was mostly dominated by men at the time. Deutsch worked for the well-known British magazine Picture Post, while Morath cooperated with the French Magnum Photos agency. The new exhibition will feature portraits of women in pairs as if Deutsch and Morath discuss the image of women, organizers say.

Balthazar
Belgian kings of indie-pop are coming to Kyiv again. This weekend, Balthazar will give their third gig in the capital. The band is known for its exceptional live performances with captivating vocals, high-quality sound and explosive energy. Balthazar will play songs from their latest album “Sand” released in February 2021.

Kurazh
The biggest charity flea market in Kyiv, Kurazh, is kicking off the fall season. “Autumn is perfect for jazz, long-lasting dancing and tight hugs,” the organizers say, bringing all of that and even more to their upcoming market. Apart from the regular bric-à-brac stands, visitors to the two-day event will get a chance to savor live jazz and electronic music shows featuring local artists such as bands Fusion and Hyphen Dash, and DJs Serge Jazzmate and Pavel Plastikk. Kurazh will also offer movie screenings, pottery workshops, sports activities and other entertainment.
