The Office of the President of Ukraine jointly with the Cabinet of Ministers and profile parliamentary committees are looking for funds to finance the functioning of the humanitarian sphere of Ukraine, Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak has said.
“We will never leave Ukrainian culture without state support, we have no right to save on values,” he wrote on his Facebook page on March 27.
Yermak said that recently the preliminary working calculations of the Finance Ministry to reduce the national budget expenditures, including in the field of culture, have come into the public space.
“However, these calculations have not yet been approved not only by the Cabinet of Ministers, but also by the Finance Ministry itself. It is clear that the document stirred up the country’s entire cultural community. Moreover, this information greatly outraged Volodymyr Zelensky. The President is firmly convinced that such potential measures to reduce costs completely will be destructive for the entire cultural sphere,” the head of the Office of the President said.
