Russian singer Zemfira to play in Kyiv

rock fame, is coming to Kyiv to play a show in support of her latest album called simply “Spasibo” (“Thank You”). The new tour program focuses on stylish remakes of the singer’s top hits, including jazz, ska, bossa nova, and blues style remakes. The new album, “Thank You,” was described by Zemfira herself as “highly positive,” in contrast to what she terms the “restlessness” of her previous record “Vendetta.” The album was recorded in London and features popular musicians Dima Shurov from Ukrainian band Esthetic Education and Yuriy Tsaler from Russian Mumiy Troll.

In addition, a film dedicated to Zemfira – “Zeleniy Teatr v Zemfire” (“Green Theater in Zemfira”), written and directed by her friend, Russian actress Renata Litvinova – was released at the Kyiv cinema in time for the upcoming show. The movie, representing Zemfira’s philosophical reflections on life, will be interesting mostly to the singer’s biggest fans, since, according to Zemfira herself, no one knows her all that well.
