Mykola Martynenko, a member of Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk’s People’s Front party, said on Nov. 30 that he’s resigning from parliament.
Swiss authorities have been investigating a bribery case against
Martynenko for a while, but Yatsenyuk defended him. Now that U.S. Vice
President Joe Biden announced a visit to Ukraine on Dec. 8, some think
that Yatsenyuk sacrificed Martynenko to show Biden evidence of his fight
against corruption.
