NEWS ITEM: On April 7, seven Ukrainian lawmakers submitted 16,000 amendments to the banking bill dubbed the “anti-Kolomoisky law” (after oligarch Ihor Kolomoisky) in an apparent attempt to prevent parliament from passing it. The lawmakers who submitted the amendments reportedly have links to Kolomoisky. The bill – if passed – will ban previous owners of nationalized banks like Kolomoisky, who formerly owned now state-owned PrivatBank, from regaining control over the banks.
