NEWS ITEM: Viktor Lyashko, deputy minister of health, on May 10 admitted that it hadn’t been necessary to close parks and some other public places during the coronavirus pandemic in Ukraine, as the number of COVID-19 cases in the country wasn’t high enough for such drastic measures. Lyashko said it was done just to scare people and make people think it’s not safe to go outside so that they would comply with the quarantine measures and stay home.
