NEWS ITEM: On July 9, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that he would cancel the country’s tradition of holding a military parade on Independence Day on Aug. 24. Instead, the money will be spent on Hr 300 million (about $11 million) in bonuses for Ukrainian soldiers. Across the ocean, his counterpart Donald Trump did the opposite: He ordered tanks to be brought to the Independence Day parade in Washington, D.C. on July 4.
