NEWS ITEM: After Russia annexed Crimea in 2014, Ukraine blocked the water channel that used to bring water, including drinking water, from the Dnipro River to the peninsula. Since then, Crimea has suffered from a deficit of drinking water. Then, on Aug. 12, Georgiy Muradov, one of the executive authorities illegally appointed in Crimea by Russia, demanded that Ukraine renew the water supply. Otherwise, he said, Russia will consider damming the Dnipro River at its headwaters in Russia.
