NEWS ITEM: A news TV station, Channel 112, changed hands in April. A recent investigation by Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty showed that its new owner, a German national Eduard Katz, appears to be a nominal owner, while the channel is being controlled by the associates of Viktor Medvedchuk, a pro-Russian politician close to Russian President Vladimir Putin. Earlier, Ukrainian media attributed another news channel, NewsOne, to Medvedchuk. He denies he owns the stations.
