NEWS ITEM: A shipment of copies of the popular children’s book “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets” couldn’t cross the border of Belarus without a letter explaiting that it doesn’t encourage the overthrow of the government, according to Belarusian publishing house Januskevic. Januskevic, which has just released the Belarusian translation of Harry Potter, said that it sent an explanation letter at the request of the local customs service on Sept. 15. That provoked laughter online. However, on Sept. 16, Januskevic stated that it was actually the shipping company that asked for the letter because “it’s better to be safe than sorry.”
