NEWS ITEM: The Kyiv Court of Appeals has canceled the arrest of ousted President Viktor Yanukovych, who was previously sentenced to 13 years in prison in absentia for state treason; the sentence hasn’t yet come into effect and is now being appealed by Yanukovych and his lawyers. Ukraine brought 10 criminal charges against Yanukovych after he fled the country to Russia following the EuroMaidan Revolution in 2014. The decision to arrest him gave Ukraine legal rights to request Yanukovych’s extradition. Now, however, it’s canceled and has to be reviewed again by a court of first instance.
