NEWS ITEM: Earlier in December, the heads of the three dispersed old higher courts, Bohdan Lvov, Borys Hulko and Mykhailo Smokovych, became heads of three chambers of the newly elected Supreme Court. Almost half of the new Supreme Court consists of old judges of the Supreme Court and the high courts that are being merged into the new Supreme Court, and more than 70 percent of the new court’s judges had worked within Ukraine’s judiciary before.
