A commemoration ceremony for the Heavenly Hundred, as EuroMaidan protesters killed on Feb. 20, 2014 by the security forces of former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych are known, was held on Nov. 21 near the place in Kyiv where they were murdered.
Nov. 21 is also the date of the start of the EuroMaidan Revolution that removed Yanukovych from power. The day is now officially called in Ukraine the Day of Dignity and Freedom.
Around 500 people attended the ceremony in Kyiv.
