Activists hold a banner showing Russian President Vladimir Putin that reads: "Executioner of Sentsov and Kolchenko. Guilty" and a smaller banner with the portrait of Sentsov that reads: "Oleg Sentsov. Help us liberate him" as they stand on Poshtova Square in Kyiv to mark one year since Sentsov and Oleksandr Kolchenko's conviction on Aug. 25.

Several dozen activists gathered on Poshtova Square in Kyiv on Aug. 26 to have a rally in support of Ukrainian political prisoners Oleg Sentsov and Oleksandr Kolchenko, convicted in Russia a year ago.

On Aug. 25, 2015, a Russian court found Crimean filmmaker Sentsov and activist Kolchenko guilty of terrorism. Sentsov was sentenced to 20 years in prison, Kolchenko – to 10 years.
