The Ukrainian government on March 25 ordered the extension of quarantine measures in the entire country until April 24. And while the measures are in place, 34-hectare Kyiv Zoo remains closed to visitors.

But life goes on for over 3,000 animals that live in the zoo as well as for roughly 350 employees who look after them.

Before the rains set in overnight on April 13 and lasting throughout much of April 14, humans and animals got to enjoy a sunny April 13 with a high temperature of 21 C.
