Artyomovsk's civilian hospital has taken up the burden of caring for Ukrainian soldiers wounded in the fierce fighting for control of a strategic crossroads at Debaltseve. The hospital receives no additional assistance from the state for doing so. Ukraine's casualties spiked over the weekend, although the numbers decreased slightly after the army poured reinforcements into the town on Feb. 2.
