Mariia Kulykivska, a Ukrainian artist born in Kerch, Crimea, is to live in a life raft attached to the banks of the Dnipro River for three days as an artistic performance in solidarity with IDPs from Crimea and the Donbas.
For performance, called “The Raft Crimea,” Kulykivska uses a handmade flag made of Mylar, the heat blanket material usually given to refugees who have arrived by sea, which she calls “a flag of the migrant parliament” or “a new flag of Crimea.”.
Kulykivska claims that she only took her documents and ulcer pills with her on board, and that any other things she might need during the three days of the performance will only be accepted by her as donations.
