A new Coyote Ugly Saloon opened in Kyiv on July 10. Located at 9 Mechnikova St., the American themed bar has no entrance fee, but rather strict face control. Drink prices are about average for nightclubs in the city – Hr 30-80 for liquor drinks and shots, Hr 50-80 for cocktails and Hr 130-300 for body shots.
The general atmosphere at the opening was rather pleasant until the show started. The American concept bar transformed into a glamorous and vulgar parody of a rural disco. Coyotes – scantily clad bartenders – hopped atop the bar and vibrated to the music, periodically shouting to the crowd.
The menu, despite promising pure alcohol, includes a wide variety of cocktails, both with and without alcohol, juices, soda, water and even coffee. For those who interested only in drinking, there are waitresses and a second, quieter bar in the next room, from which it is impossible to see the coyotes dancing.
