Diamond charity ball takes place in Kyiv

A glamorous reception, a charitable cause and symphony orchestra came together to create the first diamond ball in Ukraine, “The Glam Classic Fair.” The jewelry-studded event took place in Kyiv’s National Philarmony of Ukraine on Nov. 26.The latest lighting system was ordered especially for the ball to make the whole building of the Philarmony shine brightly. Like its predecessors held in Monte Carlo, Nizza, San Trope, Miami, Kyiv’s ball was aimed not for dancing but for charity.Ukrainian and foreign art bohemia gathered to buy pictures made by children suffering from cancer. Among those in the crowd: Giorgi Shevardnadze, nephew of former Georgia’s President Eduard Shevarnadze; former Via Gra singer Anna Sedakova; model Natalia Okunska; designer Serhiy Yermakov; Miss Ukraine Universe Anna Poslavska; television host Oleksiy Deveev-Tserkovniy; and businesswomen Yulia Voronova and Oleksandra Chervonenko.Some Hr 100,000 were raised to buy cancer-fighting clinic for the state children's Okhmatdyt clinic in Kyiv.(Kyiv Post staff)
