One of Ukraine's leading TV channels, Inter, celebrated its 15^th anniversary with a seven-hour concert in Palace Ukraine on Oct. 19. Dozens of Ukrainian and Russian pop stars came to Kyiv to take part in a grand birthday bash. Controlled by Valeriy Khoroshkovsky, the head of the SBU state security service, the channel's wheel is heavy on soap operas and talent shows, among other entertainment formats. Many people also choose Inter for their portion of daily news. Inter's coverage of political and historical issues, however, has been criticized by media think tanks as biased and overly flattering to the current administration.(Photos by Ganna Bernyk)
