Under police guard, "Freedom March" participants on May 18 paraded from St. Michael's Square to Kontraktova Square in Kyiv's Podil area. The marchers demanded that the government ratify the national strategy on drugs and begin reforming drug laws, in particular the decriminalization of possession of small amounts of banned substances without the purpose of sale.
