Ukraine's technology community has had several annual events, like Investor Day Central and Eastern Europe (IDCEE) and iForum, which have showcased the nation's products to the world. Another large-scale event joined the list recently.

The InnoTech Ukraine conference, billed as the first Ukrainian forum on innovative technologies, took place at Olympic Stadium in Kyiv on April 9-11.

More than 5,000 people visited the conference in three days. About 50 speakers participated in discussion panels of the conference’s five sectors: smart technologies, three-dimensional printing and scanning, robotics, electronic health care and electronic learning solutions.

The conference also had a demo-zone, where more than 30 Ukrainian tech companies presented their products and services. Most of what was showcased was either developed or produced in Ukraine, while some participants unveiled 3D printers, robots and electric cars produced abroad.

The conference was different from IDCEE as it did not concentrate on startups only, said Oleksandr Tarasov, the public relations manager at InnoTech Ukraine. Nor did it focus on Internet businesses, such as e-commerce or online advertising. “InnoTech was all about different sectors of IT that will drive the Ukrainian economy,” Tarasov said.
