After hours of vicious, deadly clashes between the police and the protesters during the day on Feb. 19, the city center was left looking like a haunted, apocalyptic place. Burned vehicles, injured people and rocks from the daytime clashes were prominent on the scene. The protesters were pushed back from the government quarter to Maidan Nezalezhnosti by the police during the day.
