The cold snap that hit the west of Ukraine earlier in the week hit Kyiv on Jan. 17, with the capital seeing several centimeters of snow fall overnight and into the morning.
Snow clearing teams were out in force to sweep the streets, and disruption to traffic was minimal, although several accidents were reported on highways surrounding the city.
Snowy conditions are expected for the next two days.
Meanwhile, there have been warnings of avalanche dangers in Ukraine’s Carpathian Mountain region in the west of the country, in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast and Zakarpattia Oblast.
