The recent COVID-19 wave has swept Ukraine with record numbers of registered cases and deaths. Sixteen out of 24 Ukrainian oblasts and the city of Kyiv are in the red-level quarantine zone as of Nov. 5. Since the middle of October, Kyiv has seen over 1,000 new COVID-19 infections and dozens of deaths daily.
The city has been in the red zone since Nov. 1 and is expected to stay under the tightened restrictions at least until the end of the month.
