Kyiv hosts e-sport Counter-Strike competition with $50,000 in prizes (PHOTOS)

Eight e-sport teams from post-Soviet countries vied for $20,000 prize in Kyiv on May 4, professionally playing shooter video game Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, or CS:GO for short.

Called Forge of Masters, the competition gathered about 700 video game fans at the VDNH exhibition center in Kyiv to witness the teams playing the shooter game for three days, on May 3–5. The total prize fund for the tournament was $50,000. This sum was divided among the teams that took the first three places. The winner received the biggest sum — $20,000.
