Ukrainian farmers continue the 2021 spring sowing, including in Kyiv Oblast. All Ukrainian regions have seeded a total of 853,260 hectares of wheat, barley, peas and oats as of April 8 or 11% of the expected area, according to the Economy Ministry.

Overall, Ukraine will likely to have a total of 15.5 million hectares of gran area in 2021. This includes 7.6 million hectares of spring grains, the ministry has said.

The 2021 sowing campaign started later in Ukraine because of cold weather in most of Ukraine.
