On May 4–6, medical workers tested 57 tenants of a residential buiding in Vyshneve, Kyiv Oblast for COVID-19 after an outbreak of the disease among the residents.
The outbreak was identified on April 23, when 101 residents tested positive for COVID-19. Two people died. Since then, the whole building has been closed off for quarantine. Relatives and volunteers bring food to the 239 residents.
The building is a communal housing complex, meaning that its residents have to share kitchens and bathrooms. That is not recommended during the pandemic, as COVID-19 is an easily transmissible airborne disease.
The results of the May 4–6 tests will be ready in a few days. After that, officials will decide whether the quarantine should be prolonged or eased for the residents of this housing complex in Kyiv Oblast.
