The new terminal at Kyiv's international airport in Zhulyany was on display Dec. 15. Although construction has not been finished, project investor Master-Avia Company -- which has a 49-year lease on the site -- put its best foot forward. After the official presentation, guests toured a three-story terminal of 14,000 square meters that will be filled with services, departure lounges, bars and restaurants, and duty-free shops. Then visitors were given a demonstration flight above Zhulyany, thus becoming the first passengers of the new terminal, which will be able to handle 520 passengers per hour when it is completed in April. The airport plans to handle 1.5 million passengers per year, easing the burden on Kyiv’s main airport, Boryspil, airport officials said.Story by Denis Rafalsky Photos by Kostyantyn Chernichkin
