The first-ever Kyiv Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen took place on Aug. 23 at the National Conservation Area of the St. Sophia Cathedral in Kyiv.
The event was hosted by Olena Zelenska, the wife of President Volodymyr Zelensky. It brought together spouses of the heads of several states, mainly those who arrived in Kyiv to participate in the Crimea Platform, a diplomatic summit that took place on Aug. 23.
Maryna Poroshenko, the wife of ex-President Petro Poroshenko, also attended the summit despite her husband being a vehement critic and opponent of Zelensky.
