Over the last year, face masks have become an essential element of people’s everyday wardrobe.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic started, there have been many debates on whether the mask-wearing is an effective way to battle the spread of the infection. As the mask policy has been proven to filter out airborne droplets that may carry the virus, governments all over the world have imposed mandatory policies of wearing a mask while in public places. But there are pockets of resistance all over as well.

Now, in all corners of the world, people cover their faces masks in an attempt to halt the highly-contagious disease and protect themselves. While some use medical or regular cloth masks, other individuals have gone creative and even inventive with the new wardrobe item, wearing them with various prints and colors. From Ukraine to Venezuela, people are reinventing mask-wearing.
