Demonstrators protest new quarantine restrictions

More than 200 activists, representatives of Ukrainian restaurants, nightclubs, and tourist businesses took part in a rally to protest against the limited work schedule and the re-closing of the Ukrainian border for foreigners until Sept. 28 due to the  COVID-19 pandemic. The action took place in front of the Cabinet of Ministers building in Kyiv on Aug. 8, 2020.

Ukraine’s coronavirus caseload has risen sharply in recent weeks, including 2,438 new infections in the 24 hours before 9 a.m. today.

Overall, Ukraine has registered 114,497 infections since the start of the pandemic in the nation, with the first infection on March 3.

The death toll stands at 2,451.
