Several thousand supporters of Spain’s Real Madrid soccer club have marched from their fan zone near Kyiv’s Palats Ukraina to Olympiysky stadium to watch their team take on Liverpool in the Champions League final.
Along the way, they chanted, sang songs, and waved banners in support of their team.
On May 26, Kyiv is hosting the final match of the Champions League, among the most prestigious competitions in European soccer.
Real Madrid is the most successful team in the tournament’s history. It has taken home 12 Champions League cups, and hopes to win a thirteenth in Ukraine. By comparison, Liverpool has won the tournament five times.
