Protesters and supporters of former Georgian president and ex-Odessa Governor Mikheil Saakashvili are demanding that the Ukrainian parliament impeach President Petro Poroshenko.

Saakashvili, leader of the ‘Movement of New Forces’ Ukrainian party, was detained in Kyiv and deported to Poland on Feb. 12. Saakashvili and his allies had been holding public protests since Oct. 17, 2017, demanding that Ukrainian lawmakers be stripped of their parliamentary immunity, changes to electoral legislation, and the creation of a specialized anti-corruption court.
