Rotten tomato challenge kicks off in Kyiv

Prev 01 9 Next

A handful of activists from various anti-corruption organizations brought buckets of rotten tomatoes to the center of Kyiv on Oct. 1 to throw at the "board of shame" - a large poster with portraits of 24 deputies who failed to vote for creation of an Anti-Corruption Bureau, a special organ that would be created to fight corruption in top government offices.

The vote took place on Sept. 16. Creation of this bureau is one of the demands of the International Monetary Fund for Ukraine.
