Tens of thousands of Ukrainians turned out on the streets on Nov. 24 to urge President Viktor Yanukovych to reverse course and meet conditions for signing a political and free trade pact with the European Union. Yanukovych's government on Nov. 21 suspended talks for the political and free trade pact -- only a week before it was schedule to be signed at the Eastern Partnership Summit in Vilnius, Lithuania.
A much smaller, pro-government, anti-European integration rally took place on Mikhailovska Square.
Opposition leaders vowed to keep up the pressure on Yanukovych. Tents were installed on European Square, but it’s unclear what the next big event will be and how many people will be willing to turn out.
