After three days of competition at the 2018 Winter Paralympic Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea, Ukraine on March 13 was third in the medals ranking, close behind the United States and the Neutral Paralympics Athletes team.
The Neutral Paralympics Athletes team includes Russian athletes who were not allowed to compete in a national team after Russia was found to have organized the systematic doping of its athletes.
Ukraine has 15 medals in total – five golds, four silvers and six bronzes.
Oksana Shyshkova brought the fifth gold for Ukraine on March 13, winning the women’s 10 kilometer biathlon event for visually impaired athletes.
Ukraine came fourth in the last Winter Paralympics, held in Sochi, Russia in 2014, when it won five gold, nine silver, and 11 bronze medals (25 total).
