War veterans rallied outside the Cabinet Building in Kyiv on April 5 to protest against corruption and what they claim is the government’s “financing of separatists.”
The rally was times to coincide with the cabinet’s regular weekly meeting.
In a statement calling the rally posted on Facebook, the rally organizers accused the government of wasting money on corrupt “armchair, paper, separatist generals,” rather than allocating money to support young veterans of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
“Pseudo-veterans, thieves, communists, Russian agents and other human abominations have set themselves up in the offices and corridors of Ukrainian ministries and disguised themselves as ‘veterans’ social organizations,'” the post reads.
The rally attracted only 20-30 people. Most of the onlookers were journalists.
