Zolote, a Luhansk Oblast town of 15,000 people, located 750 kilometers southeast of Kyiv, is situated in the middle of Russia’s war against Ukraine. It is split between Ukrainian soldiers and Russian-backed troops. Soldiers from both sides are sometimes as close as 50 meters from each other, and civilians have already gotten used to frequent shooting.
