UA.TV: Birth of the Ukrainian state and Constitution

Today Ukraine celebrates Constitution Day. It took MPs 5 years to approve the Constitution after Ukraine officially gained its independence. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine voted for the Basic Law on June 28, 1996. They spent the entire “constitutional night” for discussions, amendments and arguing.
