The historic region in southwestern Ukraine, spread between the rivers Prut, Dnister, Danube mouth, and the Black Sea. It is a sunny steppe land with fertile soils, clear lakes, endless vineyards, rice fields, and many rare bird species. Bessarabia has solar power plants, a tomato cluster, and the mighty Akkerman fortress, and the large estuary lake Yalpug, attracting numerous tourists annually.
