Donetsk, Oct. 18 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said he is ready to meet with EU representatives, if necessary, and at the bilateral level.

"I will always meet as partners with the EU, with representatives of the European Commission, if necessary, and at the bilateral level," he said in Donetsk on Tuesday at a joint press conference with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, when asked comment on Brussels’ decision to postpone the Ukrainian president’s visit.

Yanukovych said that this case was no exception and that "it refers to the system that we have in our mutual relations."

Speaking about the prospects for Ukraine-EU relations, Yanukovych said that this would depend on how things progress in the near future.

"We have respective plans, and we want to hear plans from the EU. And if our plans remain unchanged, we’ll go this way," he said.
