The construction sector, transport infrastructure and the food industry are among the priority areas of cooperation between Ukrainian and Belgian businesses, Prince Philip of Belgium has said.

The prince said at a Ukrainian-Belgian business forum in Kyiv on Monday that such priorities also include the Euro 2012 European Football Championship and the implementation of energy efficiency projects and green technologies.

Prime Minister Mykola Azarov, who participated in the opening of the forum, in turn, said that Ukraine’s investment attractiveness was growing. He noted that in the first nine months of 2010, Ukraine had managed to achieve GDP growth of almost 5%, while industrial output was up nearly 11%.

"We have significantly increased our currency reserves, and the stability of our currency is not in doubt," Azarov said.

As reported, the Ukrainian-Belgian business forum is taking place in Kyiv as part of a visit to Ukraine on November 21-24 by a Belgian economic mission headed by Prince Philippe of Belgium.
