Poltava restaurant’s design recognized the best in Europe
‘Shade Burger’ restaurant in Poltava became ‘Winner Europe Restaurant’ for the best design in Europe.
Such Ukrainian restaurants as BAO, ‘Game with the fire’ and ‘Barvy’ also applied for prize.

Riga to host the first Ukrainian Film Festival
Oct. 13-15 Ukrainian Film Days will take place in Riga for the first time. The festival program will offer 6 films: ‘The main role’, ‘The Nest of the Turtledove’, ‘Chervonyi’, ‘Date at the Milky Way’, ‘Vagrych and the black square’ and ‘White bird with a black sign’.
The spectators are invited to the cinema ‘Splendide Pala’ (Elizabetes Street, 61). Entrance is free.

Ukrainian mathematician wins a prize of the Indian university
Maryna Viazovska, a mathematician from Kyiv, who is working at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, was awarded the 2017 SASTRA Ramanujan Prize.
The SASTRA Ramanujan Prize was established in 2005 and is annually given to young mathematicians for outstanding contributions into the areas influenced by the Indian genius Srinivasa Ramanujan.
The prize will be awarded during Dec. 21-22, at the International Conference on Number Theory at SASTRA University in Kumbakonam. The prize sum is $10,000.

‘Ukrainian wedding’ exposition to open in Kyiv
Oct. 13, the exhibition ‘Ukrainian wedding’ opens at the National Sanctuary Complex ‘Sophia of Kyiv'(Zaborovsky Gate). The project is aimed at showing the richness and color of the traditional Ukrainian wedding.
The visitors will see house decorations, meals, bride’s clothes, a series of pictures painted from black and white wedding photographs of the past centuries and many other interesting exhibitors.
In addition to individual thematic zones, the exhibition will feature unique wedding wreaths and clothing, as well as a collection of natural stone necklaces.
The exposition works until Nov. 30.
