The fourth Rammstein format Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting has been very productive, as many countries have made new announcements to strengthen the capabilities of the Ukrainian Army.

The relevant statement was made by United States Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin during a news conference at the Pentagon, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“We understand the urgency. We are pushing hard to maintain and intensify the momentum of donations. That includes many new announcements made this morning,” Austin told.

In his words, ministers and chiefs of defense from some 50 countries participated in today’s meeting.

“We’re seeing countries from all around the world continue to step up with critically needed systems and ammunition. It’s been truly an inspiring effort,” Austin noted.

According to Austin, some allies and partners are training Ukraine’s forces; some are refurbishing Ukraine’s equipment; and some are providing spare parts and other combat resources.

“I am confident that these efforts will continue to grow,” Austin stressed.

Austin also expressed gratitude to Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov, who briefed the meeting participants on the situation on the battlefield and the urgent needs of the Ukrainian Army.
