Ukraine’s Minister of Youth and Sport Ihor Zhdanov has said in 2017 Ukrainian sportsmen and sportswomen took home 3,900 medals, of which more than a third were gold medals.
“2017 was rather successful for our sportspersons in general and for sports in the country,” he said during a press conference in Kyiv on Jan. 17.
Zhdanov added Ukrainian sportsmen and sportswomen won 1,349 gold medals.
