The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) included a goal scored by Ukraine’s forward Andriy Yarmolenko to the list of the best goals in the UEFA Euro 2020 tournament that ended on July 11.
Yarmolenko scored his goal in the 75th minute of the Netherlands-Ukraine game on June 13.
Yarmolenko weaved infield from the right flank, played the ball to Roman Yaremchuk before immediately receiving it back, took a few more steps and proceeded to curl the ball into the top corner of Maarten Stekelenburg’s net from 20 meters out. (Watch the goal).
Ukraine’s team lost the match, 3-2, to the Netherlands. Nevertheless, Ukraine made it to quarter-finals, but was knocked out by England in Rome on July 3 with a score of 4-0.
The list of top 10 goals of the tournament also includes the goals by Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, Danish Mikkel Damsgaard, Belgian Kevin de Bruyne, Czech Patrik Schick, Croatian Luka Modric, Spanish Alvaro Morata, Italians Federico Chiesa and Lorenzo Insigne as well as French Paul Pogba.
Fans can vote online to choose the best goal of the tournament out of the 10 finalists.
