President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky congratulated former head coach of the Ukrainian national football team Andriy Shevchenko on his birthday.
“He entered the top 100 best players of the 20th century. He worked wonders on the field at number seven, and in the modern history of our football he became number one. The first Ukrainian to win the Champions League. The first Ukrainian to receive the Golden Ball during independence,” the president said on his Facebook page.
Zelensky also said that Shevchenko is the first coach who brought the Ukrainian national team to the playoffs of the European Championship.
