President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky believes that sports, in particular football, will help the country’s unity.

“For the last three days I have been making working trips to the regions of the country. We understand how important it is to “stitch” Ukraine. This is not only about unity around the national idea. Not only about new roads and bridges that connect the country. It is also about the unity of Ukrainians around happy emotions. Sports, football in particular, solves this problem,” the president said in his telegram channel.

Zelensky said that the day before in Kryvy Rih, the Kryvbas football club revived its existence.

He said that the authorities will do everything possible to make Ukrainian football championship “a real holiday for people” again.

“To make the fans happy with new victories at the highest level, Dnipro, Kharkiv ‘Metalist’, Lviv ‘Karpaty’, Odesa ‘Chornomorets’, Lutsk ‘Volyn’, Uzhgorod ‘Hoverla’, Zaporizhia and Donetsk ‘Metallurgists’, Chernivtsi ‘Bukovyna’, and of course – Simferopol ‘Tavria’, as well as many others,” the president said.

“And such a concept as ‘displaced clubs’ should disappear from use forever. And a day will come when a classic Ukrainian derby between Dynamo and Shakhtar takes place at the Donbas Arena, in Ukrainian, peaceful and calm Donetsk,” Zelensky said.
