U.S. business magazine Forbes has placed Ukrainian Dmitriy Zaporozhets on its list of the 30 most successful people in the world under 30-years-of-age in the Enterprise Technology sector.

Forbes’ 30-under-30 lists include the 600 “brightest young entrepreneurs, innovators and game changers” in the world, in 20 sectors.

However, GitLab cofounder Zaporozhets, 29, has so far been tight-lipped about the honor. He refused to give any comments to the Kyiv Post, saying only that he “does not like interviews.”

He and Sytse Sijbrandij cofounded GitLab Inc. back in 2011. Zaporozhets, together with another Ukrainian, Valery Sizov, was also involved in writing the company’s software.

The initial idea was to build open source tools to help teams of IT developers collaborate more easily, reviewing and deploying code on the go, using features such as wikis and tracking.

Millions of programmers and more than 110,000 organizations, including NASA, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, AT&T, IBM, Sony and Alibaba, now use GitLab’s services.

Since its launch and its participation in the famous Y Combinator business incubator, GitLab has taken on more than 140 employees and raised $25.6 million from investors like August Capital, Khosla Ventures and Ashton Kutcher.

According to Forbes, Zaporozhets is currently living in Kyiv, Ukraine.
